On behalf of Cobseo, the Confederation of Service Charities, I was delighted to Chair the Soldiering On Awards Judging Panel to give recognition to those who have sacrificed so much in the service of their country, past and present, and yet have gone on to rebuild their lives and achieve goals they may not have previously considered possible.

The annual Soldiering On Awards also recognise the dedication of the family members, charity workers and other supporters who give their time and efforts to support the Armed Forces Community.

The selection process is an incredibly difficult task as there are so many nominations that deserve our recognition.  Therefore, we have selected five nominations for The Telegraph’s readership to vote for their own Soldiering On People’s Choice Award winner. These nominations represent some of the diverse stories that were presented for our consideration by many different military charities.

I urge you to support these inspirational people by voting and we would be delighted if you would be able to join us at the Soldiering On Awards at The Park Plaza Hotel, Westminster Bridge, London on 18 April to share in the celebration and the announcement of the Award winners.

The evening represents the whole of the armed forces community as a shining example of what we can achieve together serving as an inspiration to us all and I am very much looking forward to being part of this humbling event. If you know of others that deserve our recognition for the support that they give to the Armed Forces Community, please sign up for the updates via the Soldiering On website to see how you can nominate them for next year’s Soldiering On Awards.
