A Message from our Chairman

It is now two months since the postponement of the SOA Gala Celebration Event planned last year. After lots of consultation with the stakeholders, we have taken the decision not to reschedule the event originally planned for December 15th 2021. Disappointing we know. However, all is not forgotten and all is not lost! The event had a specific purpose at a particular moment in time and the overwhelming opinion is that the moment for what we had planned has now unfortunately passed. Covid takes another toll.

The last two years have been unprecedented for us all. Most events during the last two years have either been cancelled or gone online and we of course made announcements virtually to recognise finalists and winners. We had hoped to have a tremendous finale last December to offer further acknowledgement of the extraordinary work for which all the finalists and winners from 2020 and 2021 had been rightfully nominated and shortlisted.  We really enjoyed hosting the various online events and running the communications campaigns to shout out everyone’s good work. We were delighted with the engagement that came from across the Armed Forces community, to see and celebrate you, together with the exposure people and organisations received beyond the usual horizons. Great work all around.

We will be hosting the finale for SOA2022 on Thursday, October 27th. We will return to a traditional format, holding back winner announcements until the night. As previous winners and finalists, you have respectively received your trophies and accolades, however, you still deserve a celebration. We therefore cordially invite you to join us for Awards night 2022 to celebrate together with a new cohort of deserving people and projects. We will reserve you two tickets as we would have for your own awards night. It promises to be an evening full of celebration. Please do save the date.

We look forward to seeing you in October

Stay well and safe.
