The Soldiering On are delighted to welcome an additional volunteer to their team.
Chicago native Madonna Walsh currently leads communication efforts on a major transformation programme for Transport for London.
She first became aware of Soldiering On Through Life Trust while working with The Boeing Company on military programmes for the UK Armed Forces. Programmes include the Royal Air Force C-17 and Chinooks as well as the Boeing-designed Apache attack helicopter for the British Army. In 2009, Madonna made a trip out to Afghanistan with the Joint Helicopter Command for which she did a series of stories and photos published around the world.
Prior to moving to the UK, Madonna began her work for The Boeing Company on programmes for the company’s Space & Communications division which included NASA’s Space Shuttle and Space Station, along with military and commercial satellites and launch vehicles (rockets). She then moved on to U.S. Navy programmes which included the V-22 Osprey and the F/A-18 Super Hornet followed by Support and Network Centric Operational programmes for the U.S. Air Force, Army and Special Operations.
Prior to joining Boeing, Madonna spent time in Asia, Europe and the U.S. conducting communications activities on five continents for well-recognised global brands.
Madonna will be helping the Trust to bring together a coordinated Communications Plan and will link the key messages from Soldiering On with the various activities and sponsors. Madonna will be also be working closely with Anne Donoghue as the Soldiering On Event Coordinator to bring together the numerous activities that will deliver the Soldiering On Awards on 18 April 2015; where will you be?
