If you were lucky enough to attend the 2019 Soldiering On Awards, you’ll have seen the awesome Army cadets who supported us at the event.

These inspiring young people worked incredibly hard to help keep things running smoothly – from ensuring the name plates were tidy on the beautifully laid tables to welcoming guests as they arrived, and directing them to the champagne reception. The cadets helped with the raffle and auction and were generally on hand, and very visible, to ensure everyone had a wonderful evening!

Their most important job of the night, however, was surely to escort the worthy Winners to the stage where Carol Vorderman MBE and former Royal Marine JJ Chalmers hosted the memorable ceremony.

The Awards gala dinner and ceremony is always a fantastic event, never to be forgotten by all who attend – the mighty Finalists and their nominators, our sponsors, judges and the many supporters of the Armed Forces Community who share in this tremendous celebration.

You could be joining us in April 2020 for the next Soldiering On Awards. Nominate here!

The cadets support us, and we love to support the cadets!

So it was with a huge amount of pride that we joined X-Forces Enterprise (XFE) Founder and CEO, and Soldiering On Awards Co-chair, Ren Kapur MBE, as she recognised the achievements of 17 pioneering Army cadets at the London Stock Exchange. These cadets had attended an XFE Enterprise For Life® Cadets Programme weekend in March, and were now being honoured in the company of their Regional Commanders and representatives from the Armed Forces Community, Ministry of Defence, the third sector and business community.

To say that the audience were inspired by the cadets would be an understatement. During on-stage presentations and panel discussion the cadets put into their own words how the programme had helped them to develop new skills to support their journey in life.

You can read what the cadets told XFE here.

The XFE Enterprise For Life® Cadets Programme is just one of the support programmes offered by XFE.  Its 3:6:12 Programme is for veterans turned business owners, and other businesses stemming from within the Armed Forces Community. This business support aims to springboard those businesses – as well as relevant charities and individuals – so that they can reach the next level and work toward set goals and greater success.  This is one of the benefits of winning a Soldiering On Award!

You can nominate a business owner that inspires you – or be proud and nominate yourself!

Of course it’s not only businesses that can win a Soldiering On Award! Other categories include:

  • Healthcare and Rehabilitation
  • Working Together
  • Education, Training and Development
  • Sporting Excellence
  • Inspiration
  • Animal Partnership
  • Defence Inclusivity
  • Lifetime Achievement.

Our hearty congratulations to the amazing cadets who are inspiring role models to us all! Will you be seeing them on April 24th 2020?
