Iconic Wellington Barracks Plays Host To Soldiering On Awards Nominations Launch

The official launch event for the 15th Soldiering On Awards nominations campaign took place in the inspirational setting of The Guards Museum at London’s Wellington Barracks

The event was hosted by London District Garrison Sergeant Major Vern Stokes – one of Soldiering On Awards’ most ardent champions – who delivered a passionate endorsement of the vital role the Awards play in lifting the lid on outstanding endeavour and achievement within the Armed Forces community.

All too often, those who work tirelessly and selflessly to improve the lives of others, are too modest to seek recognition. That’s where the Soldiering On Awards come in. By shining a light on the dedication and commitment of individuals and organisations working for the benefit of the wider military family, we not only give them the plaudits they so richly deserve, but also inspire others to excel in their efforts on behalf of the community.

The 12 Categories for the 15th annual Soldiering On Awards are:

  • Animal Partnership Award – in partnership with Pets at Home (Public Vote)
  • Education, Training & Development Award – in partnership with Reed in Partnership
  • Family Values Award – in partnership with Pinnacle Service Families

Ren Kapur MBE, CEO of the Soldiering On Awards, commented:

“It was wonderful to be joined by partners, former and current nominators, charity partners, and previous winners for our nominations launch event at the stunning Guards Museum. These gatherings always embody the true spirit of community, of people working together in a common cause.

“My sincere thanks go to our host Vern Stokes, as well as to our speakers: Co-Chairs of the Judging Panel Debra Allcock-Tyler and Lt General Richard Nugee; John Mason, Managing Director of our Launch Event Partner Placing Platform Limited; and Kirsten Dagless from Ministry of Defence. Each of them spoke passionately about the significance of these awards to the Armed Forces community and the importance of storytelling to the culture of the nation.”
